Roy Jones Jr. has been taking aim at quite a few people as of late. After firing some shots at Oscar De La Hoya, Jones continued the hit parade by unloading on his career rival Bernard Hopkins. Negotiations have taken place a few times but the two fighters have never been able to get past the dispute of who gets the bigger split of the money for a rematch. Both of them are looking to get 60% of the pot. Jones won a twelve round decision over Hopkins in 2003 to capture the vacant IBF middleweight title.
Jones claims Hopkins has never looked impressive in the ring. He must have missed Bernard's wins over Felix Trinidad, Antonio Tarver and Kelly Pavlik. Hopkins was the underdog in all three fights and dominated all three men. Jones said the fans are demanding a rematch with Hopkins, and the says the public could care less about a fight between Hopkins and Chad Dawson or Hopkins and Tomasz Adamek.
“Hopkins don’t look impressive against nobody. Let’s face the music. Hopkins has never been impressive. The fans don’t want to see this crap [Hopkins vs. Dawson/Adamek]. They want to see you [Hopkins] fight Roy Jones and see you redeem your loss or try to redeem it.” Jones told fighthype.com.
I would have liked this rematch 6-7 years ago when both guys were closer to their prime, but at this point, BHop's stock and legacy has surpassed RJJ's and that's what really bothers Roy.

I think the same, way too late for this fight, should have happend when they were both at the top.
